About the Piece
I wanted to highlight the radiance of Lake Tahoe, as I saw it while on vacation. Printed on a Vandercook press, Lake Tahoe at Dusk was created at Penland School of Craft in summer 2019 through a reduction process. In reduction printing, an artist prints all colors from the same block, carving away different layers after each pass of color. After the final color – in this case, black – is printed, the block is finished and cannot be reprinted.
Technique / Materials: Lake Tahoe at Dusk is an original hand-carved reduction linocut print. Printed on Mohawk 100lb cover paper. Limited edition of 32.
Size: The image is 8 3/4” x 12” and the paper is 9.5” x 12 1/2”
